Get Involved
Help carry Lakeside’s stories of service forward.
Community members can now honor a veteran, preserve a story, follow the project, donate, and explore ways to volunteer or provide sponsorship support.
Current status: Plaque reservation requests are now being accepted. Approved applicants will be invoiced after eligibility review. Sensitive personal records should not be submitted through the website.
Monetary donations are tax-deductible.
This does not apply to plaque purchases. Lakeside Veterans Wall of Honor, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Federal Tax ID: 33-4571702. Online donations are now available through the organization’s secure PayPal donation page.
Ways to participate
Honor a veteran
Submit a plaque reservation request and learn what information will be needed to document eligibility, military service, and the veteran’s Lakeside connection.
Preserve a story
Explore how approved veteran biographies, photographs, family memories, service information, and future oral histories may become part of the digital honor library.
Support the memorial
Make a tax-deductible donation to support the memorial. Donor recognition remains separate from veteran eligibility and plaque placement.
Volunteer, sponsor, or contribute expertise
Volunteer interest
Future roles may include community outreach, events, veteran and family engagement, fundraising assistance, historical research, biography support, photography, oral-history assistance, and project documentation.
Sponsorship and in-kind support
Businesses, organizations, and professionals may eventually contribute approved services, construction expertise, materials, printing, technology, landscaping, photography, media support, or event assistance. Nothing should be purchased or delivered on the organization’s behalf without written approval.
Planned interest form
The future central interest form will allow visitors to select one or more areas of interest:
- Submitting preliminary veteran information or a biography
- Receiving plaque-program updates
- Participating in the future oral-history program
- Volunteering
- Discussing sponsorship or donor recognition
- Offering professional services, materials, or other in-kind support
- Receiving general project updates
Before the form is activated
The Board must designate an organization-owned email address, assign authorized reviewers, approve the privacy and consent notice, determine how records will be retained, and establish response responsibilities. Until then, this page will not transmit or store visitor information.
A community memorial needs a community willing to participate.
Plaque reservations, story submissions, and online donations are now available. Additional volunteer registration options will be announced when the necessary policies and systems are ready.
