About the Organization
A permanent tribute shaped by community.
Lakeside Veterans Wall of Honor, Inc. is a volunteer-run nonprofit organization working to create and steward a dignified public memorial where local veterans are recognized by name and their stories are preserved for future generations.
Our mission
To honor and recognize Lakeside residents who have served in the United States Armed Forces and to provide a dedicated community space for remembrance, reflection, and recognition.
Our vision
A lasting and accessible memorial where veterans are recognized, families can preserve personal connections to service, and the Lakeside community can gather in gratitude and remembrance.
How the project began
The project was founded by Richard Abraham, a retired U.S. Navy Command Master Chief, with a clear purpose: to ensure that Lakeside veterans have a permanent place of recognition within the community they served and called home.
Today, the Board of Directors is advancing the memorial through project planning, County coordination, fundraising, policy development, community engagement, and long-term stewardship. The proposed location is in front of the Lakeside Community Center at Lindo Lake Park.

Board of Directors and Founding Members
The Lakeside Veterans Wall of Honor is led by a volunteer Board of Directors and founding members whose backgrounds bring both career military service and military-family experience to the project.
- President — Richard Abraham; career service in the U.S. Navy
- Vice President — Glenn Brannon; career service in the U.S. Army
- Secretary/Treasurer — Nick Cowell; career service in the U.S. Navy
- Board Member — Katrina Pescador; from a career military family: grandfather, U.S. Air Force; father and mother, U.S. Army; spouse, U.S. Navy
Built for remembrance. Planned for stewardship.
The Wall of Honor is intended to be more than a construction project. Its success depends on accurate veteran records, respectful plaque standards, responsible financial management, accessible public information, ongoing maintenance, and a durable system for preserving biographies and photographs.
Plaque reservation requests are now being accepted through a review-first process. Applicants provide preliminary information, eligibility is verified, and approved applicants receive a $600 invoice before a reservation becomes final.

Correspondence only. Plaque reservation requests must be submitted through the Honor a Veteran page. Approved applicants will receive separate invoice and payment instructions; please do not mail payment or sensitive records without those instructions.
Protecting private information
Please do not email or mail discharge papers, Social Security numbers, financial or medical information, home addresses, or other sensitive records. The organization will provide separate secure instructions if documentation is required if documentation is required after preliminary review.
